WACO, Texas (KWTX) The Navy band is making a return to Central Texas next month.

Waco was one of 25 cities chosen to host a performance by the United States Navy Band during its 2019 tour.

“Today, we have sailors performing around the world, improving relations with our allies abroad as well as telling the Navy story here at home." Capt. Kenneth Collins, U.S. Navy Band commanding officer, said.

The band is scheduled to perform on Mar. 3, at 3 p.m. at the Jones Concert Hall of the Glennis McCrary Music Building at Baylor University.

The Navy Concert Band, the premier wind ensemble of the U.S. Navy, presents a wide array of marches, patriotic selections, orchestral transcriptions and modern wind ensemble repertoire.

It is an original ensemble of the Navy Band and has been for more than 90 years.

The event is free and open to the public.
