Temple: New Year’s Eve shooting sends one to local hospital

TEMPLE, Texas (KWTX) Temple police are investigating a New Year’s Eve shooting that sent one person to a local hospital.

The shooting at around 9:45 p.m. Tuesday at the Canyon Creek Town Homes at 1746 Canyon Creek Dr. stemmed from an argument, police said Thursday.

“Officers were advised that two groups of individuals had gotten into an argument before an unknown male fired, striking a male victim in the leg,” police spokesman Cody Weems said.

The victim, whose name was not released, was taken to Scott & White Medical Center in Temple.

His injuries weren’t life-threatening, police said.

No further details were released Thursday.
