New sheriff's K-9 nabs suspected drug dealer in first week

MARLIN, Texas (KWTX) It has been a week since a local sheriff's office new K-9 has been on the job it is already making an impact in fighting crime.

Falls County Sheriff Rick Scaman said K-9 Thor came on board June 21.

Two days afterward, his handler noticed a vehicle driving recklessly and doing doughnuts in the parking lot of a retirement home.

After initiating a stop, the pair found drugs inside the vehicle of Andre Demetruis Peoples Jr., 23.

He was found with six grams of crack cocaine and a small amount of marijuana, Scaman said.

Peoples posted $19,000 and was released.
