TEMPLE, Texas (KWTX) Police are investigating the abduction of a high school student Thursday morning in Temple.

The student was waiting for a school bus between 6:30 and 7:30 a.m. Thursday at West Avenue O and South 9th Street when four males pulled up in a silver sedan, got out, and forced him into the vehicle, police spokesman Cody Weems said.

The boy was the only student at the bus stop at the time.

He was later able to escape.

Railroad employees found him in a rural area south of Little River-Academy, Weems said.

“The Temple Police Department is working with Temple ISD regarding the situation. Officers will have a heightened awareness during transportation hours,” Weems said.
