CORSICANA, Texas (KWTX) Police in Corsicana are investigating a late night shooting that left two women and the suspected gunman dead.

On Saturday, police identified the victims as Vanesa Mendoza, 27, and her sister, Nancy Castillo, 28.

Police said they were called to a home in the 2100 block of Navarro Drive around 9:45 p.m. Friday.

The caller, identified as Castillo, said her sister was outside the home arguing with her estranged husband, 36-year-old Rosalio Mendoza.

Castillo also told dispatchers there were three children at the home.

As officers were en route, gunfire rang out.

Police arrived at the scene with a minute of the shots being fired, saw a woman lying in the front yard suffering from a gunshot wound.

Officers went into the home and found the suspect, Rosalio Mendoza, dead inside a bedroom from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

During the investigation, they also found Castillo dead in the room. Police said she was able to get the children, ages 1, 3 and 7, out of the room through the window, but was shot and killed as she tried to escape.

All three people were pronounced dead at the scene.
