Copperas Cove: Police look for man who tried to rob Walmart store

COPPERAS COVE, Texas (KWTX) Police were looking Wednesday for a man who tried to rob the Walmart store at 2720 East Business Highway 190 in Copperas Cove, threatening “to shoot people if his demands were not met.”

Officers responded to the store at around 8:45 a.m. Tuesday.

The would-be robber handed an employee a note demanding cash from the register, and moments later, “during a short delay by the employee,” picked up the note and ran, police said.

“The suspect did not obtain money or items during the incident,” police said.

The man, who is black, and 5-foot-9 to 5-foot-11, was wearing a thick blue winter coat and had a blue scarf wrapped around his mouth and nose.

He escaped in a white sedan.
