MORGAN’S POINT RESORT, Texas (KWTX) McLennan County deputies have found an armed man who became the focus of a search after “showing signs of mental distress.”

Bell and McLennan County deputies and Temple police searched for several hours Friday afternoon for the man “who was showing signs of mental distress near the Morgan’s Point area,” Temple police spokesman Chris Christoff said.

Temple police received a call about the man at around 2 p.m. Friday.

“We believed that this person’s safety is a risk as they do have a handgun with them,” Christoff said.

The man, who’s wearing a military uniform, was driving a black Ford Ranger with California license plates, he said.

Morgan’s Point police and volunteer firefighters were also involved in the search.
