TEMPLE, Texas (KWTX) Temple police officers and FBI agents have arrested a bank robbery suspect at a local motel.

Ronnie Tanner, 39, was taken into custody at the Red Roof Inn at 400 SW HK Dodgen Loop in Temple, police said.

He was in federal custody in Waco Friday afternoon.

The holdup was reported just before 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Wells Fargo bank at 3407 South 31st St.

Tanner is accused of entering the bank, handing a note to a teller, and escaping with about $4,000, according to a federal criminal complaint.

No one was hurt.

Tips from the public led police to Tanner, who’s scheduled for a detention hearing on March 4.

Police did not say whether the man was armed, but did warn residents to “Use caution and call TPD immediately if you encounter this individual.”
