BELTON, Texas (KWTX) The weather was a factor in a two-vehicle crash Wednesday morning on northbound Interstate 35 in Belton that sent a car and an SUV into a roadside ditch.
Authorities said driver of the SUV lost control of the vehicle, which slid across several lanes and hit the median wall before hydroplaning off the highway and into the ditch, taking the Infiniti passenger car with it.
The driver of the car had to be extricated from the vehicle.
It wasn’t immediately clear whether either driver was injured.
The 6th Avenue exit was temporarily blocked off because of the accident.
Belton police said the tires on the SUV were worn and had “low tread.”
