TEMPLE, Texas (KWTX) A funeral service has been scheduled for a longtime Central Texas television news anchor Tony Hennes, 72, who died on Feb. 11 at his home in Temple just weeks after he announced his candidacy for a city council seat.

A graveside service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Feb. 21 at Bellwood Memorial Park at 8575 Airport Rd. in Temple.

Visitation is from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Feb. 20 at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home at 500 West Barton Ave. in Temple.

He later went to work for the City of Temple, serving as city spokesman and ultimately as an assistant city manager.
