KILLEEN, Texas (KWTX) Police were investigating Monday after officers who responded to a report of a shooting found a 29-year-old man dead in a Killeen neighborhood.

Early Saturday morning, officers who responded to report of an accident in the 4100 block of Stan Schlueter Loop in Killeen found a 19-year-old man with a gunshot wound.

Police say the victim had attended a party on Colina Drive at a "newly constructed residence" with several high school students.

"The victim left the party in a vehicle towards Stan Schlueter when shots were fired," a press release stated.

Witnesses told officers that an older white sedan, possibly a Honda, was in the area of the crash.

He was in the Bell County Jail Monday charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
