Shots fired in Killeen neighborhood injures teen

KILLEEN, Texas (KWTX) Killeen Police are investigating a shooting that happened shortly after 11 a.m.

Officers were dispatched to 1300 Fox Creek Drive.

According to police, a 13-year-old boy was injured and taken to McLane's Children's Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police say the teen was at home sick from school when he was injured.

It is unclear if the shooting happened inside or outside the home.

The teen's mother told News 10 she hopes someone will come forward with information.

Neighbors say they are starting to feel unsafe in their neighborhood. Many told News 10 that they are thinking about moving from the area.

Adara Reed has been living in Killeen for three years and two years on Fox Creek Drive.

She is a mother and says she feels like crime in the area is getting worse.

"Be aware of your surroundings at all times. Even if you're not into drama or any mess," Reed said.

"You could be an innocent bystander anything can happen at any time."

No further information was released on the case.
