AUSTIN, Texas (KWTX) Wait times at driver’s license offices in Bell County and Lampasas should improve as staffing is increased beginning next month after the Legislature’s approval of additional funding, State Rep. Brad Buckley, R-Salado, said Thursday.

Two additional employees and three additional workstations will be added at the Killeen driver license office at 5100 West Elms Road, which currently has 16 employees and nine workstations.

The Department of Public Safety Office on Fort Hood, which now has one to two employees on a rotational basis will add two to three additional workers and an additional workstation.

The driver’s license office in Temple will gain two employees and the office in Lampasas will gain one.

During the legislative session, I heard from folks throughout Bell County who were frustrated by long wait times at the county’s driver license offices,” Buckley said.

“My fellow colleagues on the House Appropriations Committee agreed that a statewide solution was necessary,” he said.
