Killeen: Students evacuated from elementary school after power line snaps

KILLEEN, Texas (KWTX) Students were evacuated Thursday morning from all buildings and portables on the campus of Peebles Elementary School at1800 North W S Young Dr., after a powerline snapped, causing sparks near the portables.

Alarms sounded at the school Thursday morning, students were evacuated and firefighters quickly responded, Principal Carol Correa said in a message to parents.

After firefighters gave the all-clear, students returned to class.
