Teen bops local campus cop, lands in juvenile detention

KILLEEN, Texas (KWTX) A teenage girl accused of assaulting a campus police officer who was trying to break up a fight between her and another girl Thursday at Shoemaker High School in Killeen was in juvenile detention Friday.

“When ordered to stop by the Killeen ISD police officer on the scene, one of the girls, a 16-year-old 10th grader, assaulted the police officer,” district spokesman Terry Abbott said.

The girl was charged with assault on a public servant, which is a felony.

She was sent to the Bell County Juvenile Detention Center.
