Teenager indicted for murder in deadly Central Texas shooting

KILLEEN, Texas (KWTX) Javonte J. Washington, 16, who was 15 when he was arrested along with three men in connection with a shooting that left a 28-year-old man dead was indicted for murder Wednesday.

Luis Angel Santiago, 28, died at Seton Medical Center Harker Heights after he was hit by shots fired from a car on June 18 in the 1900 block of Fleetwood Drive near the intersection with Greengate Drive west of Hay Branch Elementary School.

Shyheem Jubar Washington, 20, Gervard Washington, 46, and David Madden, 21, were indicted in September in connection with the deadly shooting.

Madden was also indicted for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in connection to a shooting on May 30 in the 2800 block of Lake Road that left the victim injured.

All three remain jailed.

Shyheem Washington is held in lieu of $400,000 bond.

Gervard Washington’s bonds total more than $1 million and Madden is held in lieu of $1.1 million bond.

The teenager was placed in juvenile custody at the time of his arrest and his name did not appear on the Bell County Jail's online roster Wednesday.
