TEMPLE, Texas (KWTX) Two Temple teenagers were in custody Thursday after their vehicle struck an unmarked police car Wednesday afternoon in the parking lot of the Buc-ee’s at 4155 North General Bruce Drive.

Joe Lopez, 17 and Eric Villanueva, 17, were both in the Bell County Jail Thursday where they were held on unspecified charges.

Bonds had not been set.

The arrests were the result of what police described Thursday as an ongoing investigation.

Officers spotted the teens’ vehicle at the Buc-ee’s and as officers made contact with the pair, the two tried to flee, striking the unmarked police vehicle in the process.

Lopez, whom police identified as the driver, was arrested without incident.

Villanueva was arrested after what police described as a controlled substance was recovered.

No further details were released.
