TEMPLE, Texas (KWTX) Women undergoing breast cancer treatment were treated to a spa day Friday in Temple.

The women got massages, manicures and treats from the Central Texas Beauty College at the Baylor Scott & White Vasicek Cancer Center.

Earlier in the day, hospital officials spoke to women at a special seminar about breast screenings and what to do once cancer is detected.

“It is very important for women to get that yearly mammogram starting at age 40 because early detection is the key in breast cancer,” Baylor Scott & White official, Jerrilyn Myatt said.

According to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, more than 250,000 women in the United States are diagnosed with breast cancer annually.
