TEMPLE, Texas (KWTX) The Temple Police Department is set to begin enforcing new parking measures the downtown area.

“Drivers are urged to pay attention to signs indicating 2-hour parking zones, and they must be parked within the lines of a parking spot,” the city said in a press release Monday.

“Backing into angled parking spots is not allowed, while parallel parking spots require right-side tires to be within 18 inches of the curb. Drivers cannot block alleyways. Parking in loading zones, valet zones and alleyways is prohibited.”

A two-week awareness campaign begins on Nov. 4 before police issue any citations.

For the remainder of the month those who violate parking codes will be given warnings.

Citations won’t be issued until December.
