TEMPLE, Texas (KWTX) Temple Fire & Rescue said Monday it is days away from delivery of a swift water rescue boat purchased through a grant from State Farm in April.

The insurance company presented a check at a city council meeting in April to cover the cost of the boat, motor and ramp.

Several firefighters are already trained in swift water rescue.

The department says the new boat will help in mutual aid efforts across central Texas.
