TEMPLE, Texas (KWTX) Two residents were displaced Tuesday after a fire broke out in their small wood frame house in Temple.
The fire was reported at around 4:45 p.m. Tuesday in the 900 block of South 16th Street.
Light smoke was coming from the eaves of the house when the first firefighters arrived, Temple Fire & Rescue spokesman Thomas Pechal said.
The fire was quickly extinguished, Pechal said.
“Fire investigators determined the blaze started in a front room, with the cause listed as undetermined,” he said.
The fire was ruled unintentional, he said.
Damage to the house and contents was estimated at about $10,500, he said.
The house did not have working smoke alarms, he said, but the two residents were not at home when the fire started.
