TEMPLE, Texas (KWTX) D’vante Green-Craine, 24, of Temple, who was charged in a deadly stabbing in March, was named in a murder indictment Wednesday.
He remains in the Bell County Jail in lieu of $500,000 bond.
Green-Craine was arrested just before 5 p.m. on March 7, about an hour after the victim, Jaco Whiteley, 37, died at Scott & White Medical Center in Temple.
Officers responded to a report of the stabbing at around 2:55 p.m. Thursday in the 700 block of East Downs near the intersection with Katy Lane, police spokeswoman Ellen Morton said in a brief press release at the time.
“Upon arrival, they found an adult male and immediately began performing lifesaving measures,” she said at the time.
Whiteley was taken to Scott & White Medical Center where he died just after 3:45 p.m. on March 7.
Officers arrested Green-Craine just before 4:50 p.m. the same day in the 800 block of North 12th Street.
