TEMPLE, Texas (KWTX) A week after the landmark Chick-fil-A in Temple, the chain’s first drive-thru only location in Texas, served its last customer, Temple’s new Chick-fil-A is set to open.
The original Chick-Fil-A opened in 1994 at 3306 S. 31st St. in Temple.
It didn’t have a dining room, but customers could eat outside under a nearby awning.
The new restaurant, which is just across the street at 3303 South 31st St., opens for business on Thursday.
A ribbon cutting ceremony is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. and festivities and giveaways are planned throughout the day.
