TEMPLE, Texas (KWTX) Nine recent graduates of the Central Texas College Police Academy have joined the Temple Police Department.

The graduates were sworn in Saturday, vowing to uphold the constitution, community and agency.

“The department’s hiring process is governed by civil service and at times can be a lengthy process, but it is designed to hire the best candidates for the police officer position,” Deputy Chief Jeff Clark said.

“The department strives to provide excellent police services for the Temple community and the addition of these new officers further enhances the department's ability in achieving this goal,” Clark said.
