Temple: Police chief a finalist for chief’s job in Lubbock

LUBBOCK, Texas (KWTX) Temple police Chief Floyd Mitchell is one of three finalists for the chief’s job in Lubbock.

Mitchell, Richard Bash, the chief of staff of the Columbus, Ohio Division of Police and Lubbock Assistant police Chief Neal Barron were announced as the finalists Monday.

The field of potential replacements for former Chief Greg Stevens was narrowed from 43 applicants, the city said in a press release.

Mitchell has served as Temple’s police chief since 2015 after spending more than 25 years with the Kansas City, Mo. Police Department.
