Jerry Keith Reed, 27, was named in a Bell County warrant charging family violence and a federal warrant charging possession of a firearm.

“Reed is also suspected of involvement in recent firearm-related activities in Temple,” police said in a press release Friday.

Authorities learned Thursday that Reed was in a BMW in the area of 8th Street and East Adams Avenue in Temple, police said.

Reed drove to the 600 block of North Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard, where he abandoned the vehicle, police said.

A Temple K-9 team tracked him to a home in the 400 block of North 6th Street.

He surrendered without incident.
