TEMPLE, Texas (KWTX) A Temple woman is jailed on an arson charge after a surveillance camera recorded an incident in which a fire was set at a home while the residents slept.

Alicia Savannah Pina, 26 of Temple, was served with the arson warrant at the Bell County Jail where she’s been held since May 27 on an unrelated criminal trespass warrant.

The incident occurred on May 19 in the 800 block of South 23rd Street in Temple.

“A person was seen on the homeowner’s surveillance camera walking up to the front porch with a red, square shape plastic container,” Temple Fire & Rescue spokesman Thomas Pechal said Tuesday.

“The same person was seen on the camera leaving the residence with flame and smoke behind them. The occupants were home asleep when the incident occurred,” he said.

The arson warrant was issued on June 5, he said.

Pina remains in the Bell County Jail in lieu of bonds totaling $101,500.
