TEMPLE, Texas (KWTX) The Temple Chamber of Commerce hosted its annual Military Appreciation Luncheon Tuesday to honor active military members and veterans.

This year’s event featured speaker was III Corps and Fort Hood Commander Lt. Gen. Paul Funk II.

The Mayborn Civic and Convention center was filled with hundreds of veterans from World War II, the Korean War and Vietnam War.

Other attendees include high school Junior ROTC members.

“This is such an amazing wake, up and to see the ROTC involved in this and their appreciation for the older generation” Marine Corp Veteran Mary Grace Sellers said.

Several area Vietnam veterans were awarded for their efforts at the event.
