Temple: Feed My Sheep offers Christmas meal for homeless

TEMPLE, Texas (KWTX) Feed My Sheep in Temple fed over 300 people a free Christmas dinner on Wednesday.

The event originally started back in 2012, under then Executive Director Jim Hornsby. He passed away back in June of this year.

Volunteers woke up early on Christmas morning to help prepare all of the food.

Those who received a free meal were also given a special goody bag full of warm clothes, socks and candy.

Staci Masson, the new executive director, stresses that it's important to give back all year long, not just on Christmas.

"When January comes, it's gonna get very cold," she said.

"There's still people struggling and I would just encourage the community not to forget."
