TEMPLE, Texas (KWTX) The city of Temple is asking its residents for help as it develops a master plan for city development.

Thursday, dozens came out to give opinions on the parks and trails plan.

The event asked residents a series of questions to gauge their interest on different options such as types of parks, park locations, as well as the surface they want on trails.

The city has hired a consulting company who will gather all of the responses and draft a master plan to meet residents' needs.

"When people go around it asks them ‘what kind of facilities do they like?’ ‘What kind of recreation do they do? What do they do for fun? When they go visit a park or go visit any kind of open space?" Assistant Director of Parks and Recreation, Mike Henker said at the event.

Tuesday June 4th, Temple will hold another open house for its comprehensive plan at the Gober Party House from 5:30 to 7:30.

If you can't attend the sessions you can complete online surveys at templebydesign.com.
