TEMPLE, Texas (KWTX) Whether it was by helicopter or by fire truck, the threat of rain was not going to stop Santa Claus from landing in Temple.
Santa was in town, making an appearance at the Pancake Breakfast, which was put on by Main Street Hall.
“Where I grew up every year, we had Santa fly in on a helicopter. As a child, this was one of my favorite childhood memories,” Ron Prince said.
Now, the tradition starts here in downtown Temple.
Prince says the goal of the event is to get the community together.
“And keep growing our downtown Temple area,” he added.
From the free breakfast to taking that perfect picture with Santa, the little ones were excited and adding to their Christmas list.
“What are you going to tell Santa you want for Christmas?” News 10’s Brandon Hamilton asked.
“I want a Barbie house,” said 6-year-old Grace M.
Santa, did you hear that?
“I love being Santa. All the children and adults just see Santa and light up. It makes me feel so good,” he said.
We hope he’s feeling good after making the list and checking it twice.
Ron says this year’s event is the first of many, with next year being even bigger.
