TEMPLE, Texas (KWTX) A local couple is lighting up people's faces with their eye-catching holiday tradition.

This Modens have serious dedication to their holiday displays which they have been building on for nearly three decades.

That dedication is bringing lots of attention to their home out in Temple.

It all started when they entered a decorating contest at their first apartment 28 years ago.

Every year since, they've added decorations collected from across the country.

They used to spread them out over five acres of land they had in Colorado, but after moving to Temple in September, they don't have quite the same amount of space.

However, the couple is keeping the tradition alive.

They've got a sleigh for people to take pictures in and even nine Longhorns instead of reindeer.

Starting early November, the wife draws out the plans and hubby says he simply puts things where she tells him to put them.

They keep two large storage units for all those decorations.

Although everything can't fit on their yard, there's still plenty to see.

They are located within the 2900 block of Forest Trail in Temple.
