BELL COUNTY, Texas (KWTX) A Bell County Organized Crime Unit investigation of the distribution of high-grade marijuana in Central Texas has led to two arrests and the seizure of nearly 30 pounds of pot, significant quantities of other illegal drugs, an assault rifle and $2,000 in cash, authorities said Tuesday.
The marijuana has a street value of about $90,000, authorities said Tuesday.
Kendrick Deon Parker, 29, and Laqunda Ami Meshea McCovery, 23, both of Killeen remain in the Bell County Jail, charged with engaging in organized crime and possession of marijuana over 5 pounds, but under 50 pounds.
Parker is also named in a misdemeanor marijuana possession charge and with driving with an invalid license.
Parker’s bonds total $155,000.
McCovery is held in lieu of bonds totaling $150,000.
They were arrested on Feb. 13.
Additional charges are possible pending a Department of Public Safety lab analysis of other substances seized, authorities said.
