KILLEEN, Texas (KWTX) Kendrick Deon Parker, 29, and Laqunda Ami Meshea McCovery, 23, both of Killeen, who were arrested in February following a Bell County Organized Crime Unit investigation of the distribution of high-grade marijuana in Central Texas, were named in indictments Wednesday charging possession of marijuana less than 50 pounds, but more than 5 pounds and engaging in organized criminal activity.

The investigation led to the seizure of nearly 30 pounds of pot, significant quantities of other illegal drugs, an assault rifle and $2,000 in cash, authorities said.

Parker and McCovery were arrested on Feb. 13.

Parker was ordered held in lieu of bonds totaling $155,000.

McCovery’s bonds totaled $150,000.

Neither appeared Wednesday on the Bell County Jail’s online roster.
