KILLEEN, Texas (KWTX) The Central Texas Veterans Health Care System is preparing to open new privately operated primary care clinics in Killeen and Copperas Cove.

U.S. Reps. John Carter, (R-Round Rock) and Roger Williams, (R-Austin) will formally announce the plan on Monday.

The VA will solicit bids for a contractor to provide primary care services for as many as 7,200 veterans at each location.

“As Central Texas’ veterans population continues to grow, additional resources are necessary to ensure veterans are receiving the best health care,” Carter said.

“I’m excited to see this project come to fruition, I think it will be a convenient, accessible option for care for western Bell County veterans.”
