Veterans event promises to impress and raise money for military tribute

WACO, Texas (KWTX) A Harker Heights fundraiser aimed at honoring veterans is coming up soon, and it promises to entertain all who attend, but there's a new location this year.

Each year, local volunteers raise money for wreaths to be placed at the graves of those who've served.

The Saturday following Thanksgiving the evergreen wreaths with red bows are laid at tombstones at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen.

The Wreaths for Veterans Car Show is coming up Saturday, August 3 from noon until 4 p.m.

This year it's happening in the parking lot of Target at 201 West Central Texas Expressway in Harker Heights, moving from last year's location at Walmart.

If you'd like to enter your car, truck or bike it's $20 per entry and registration goes from 10 a.m. until noon.

The public is invited to check out the show for free.
