WACO, Texas (KWTX) About 500 people gathered Wednesday for the ninth annual Veterans Appreciation Luncheon at the Lee Lockwood Library and Museum in Waco, sponsored by the Stan C. Parker Foundation.

The event’s goal is to honor those who served the country, and to bring veterans together to enjoy quality time with each other.

"It's just an appreciation for the service of the men and women that served our country, just to say thanks for being there. That's really all it is,” Parker said.

Rusty Garrett was the emcee and Lt. Col. Allen West was the guest speaker.

State Rep. Doc Anderson, R-Waco, and U.S. Rep. Bill Flores, R-Bryan, also attended.
