TEMPLE, Texas (KWTX) A wastewater overflow has forced Temple officials to close Lions Park, the city announced Monday.

The 100-acre park at 4320 Lions Park Rd. will remain closed until further notice, the city said.

The runoff from heavy rains has caused a series of wastewater overflows in the city, most recently on Saturday when a 4,500-gallon spill was reported in Lions Park, a 75,000-gallon spill was reported at 2501 Westwood Rd. and a 60,000-gallon spill was reported at 2402 South 61st St.
