Widespread illness forces local school district to cancel classes

FAIRFIELD, Texas (KWTX) A Central Texas school district announced Wednesday that they will cancel two days of classes as students continue to battle multiple illnesses.

Fairfield ISD posted on its social media pages, that “our students are experiencing several health issues (flu, strep throat and stomach virus). After careful consideration, it is in the best interest of students, staff and community to cancel Fairfield ISD classes for Thursday and Friday, January 31 and February 1.”
