Woman pleads guilty to stealing thousands from local booster club

MILANO, Texas (KWTX) A Central Texas woman will not face any time behind bars after stealing money from an athletic booster club.

According to Milam County District Attorney Bill Torry, Trisha Jones, accepted guilt to taking more than $8,000 from the Milano Athletic Booster Club last November.

Jones was able to access the money because she was an officer for the club at the time.

In order to receive the plea deal, the 41-year-old had to repay the entire amount stolen.

She was given three years deferred adjudication and ordered to pay a $2,500 fine as well.
