TEMPLE, Texas (KWTX) The mother of two young children who were found dead in September 2019 in a home in Temple has evidently been transferred to a state hospital after she was found incompetent to stand trial.
Terrikah Haynes, 36, is held in lieu of bonds totaling $300,000 according to online records. (Jail photo)
A court order was signed on Dec. 20 remanding Terrikah Haynes, 37, to a state hospital.
"Proceedings are on hold pending the outcome," Assistant District Attorney Debbie Garret said in an email Wednesday.
Haynes did not appear on the Bell County Jail's online roster Thursday and sheriff's Maj. T. J. Cruz confirmed she was no longer held there.
Authorities, however, declined to provide any further information Thursday.
Haynes is named in indictments charging abandoning or endangering a child/imminent danger of death or bodily injury.
Officers found the bodies of Terric Boyd, 2, and Janea Boyd, 1, on Sept. 30, 2019 in the home at West Avenue P and South 35th Street, along with Haynes, who was conscious, but unresponsive, and two girls, ages 4 and 6, who were placed in the custody of Child Protective Services.
Both children died of neglect, according to preliminary autopsy reports that listed the manner of death as homicide.
Haynes was arrested on Oct. 16, 2019.
