Women struck by SUV taken to local hospitals with serious injuries

HARKER HEIGHTS, Texas (KWTX) Two women who were struck by an SUV Monday morning while walking near Skipcha Elementary School in Harker Heights were taken to local hospitals with what police said were incapacitating injuries.

The accident was reported just before 10:45 a.m. Monday in the 700 block of Prospector Trail on the south side of the school’s campus.

The women were walking east on Prospector Trail when an eastbound 2005 Ford Escape struck them.

A 40-year-old woman was flown to Scott & White Medical Center in Temple.

A 54-year-old woman was taken by ambulance to Seton Medical Center Harker Heights.

The driver of the SUV wasn’t hurt.

The names of the victims weren't released.
