Teenage victim of deadly neighborhood shooting identified

WACO, Texas (KWTX) – The victim of a shooting Tuesday afternoon in a North Waco neighborhood ;who died at a local hospital, was identified Wednesday as Ryan Abbott, 19, of Waco.

No arrests have been made in the shooting, which was reported at around 3 p.m. Tuesday in the 3800 block of Parkwood Street, just south of Bosque Boulevard.

Officers found Abbott in the 3600 block of Bosque with multiple gunshot wounds, Officer Garen Bynum said.

He was taken to Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest Medical Center where he later died.

Officers determined the shooting occurred inside a home on Parkwood.

“The individual that was involved in the shooting was on scene and has been cooperative with officers and detectives,” Bynum said.

“Currently, detectives are still working to find the cause of the shooting, but feel confident that this was an isolated incident and that there is no current or active threat to the surrounding community,” he said.
