Texas Bucket List heading to West for eclipse
WEST, Texas (KWTX) - The host of the popular Texas TV show, ‘The Texas Bucket List,’ is heading to Slovacek’s in West to experience the total solar eclipse on April 8.
“It’s always a great stop to go to Slovacek’s on I-35 at Exit 353,” Shane McAuliffe, the host of ‘The Texas Bucket List,’ said. “It happens to be the focal point for the eclipse on Monday. West is in the totality, so we will get a full view, and, if that’s not on your bucket list, I don’t know what is.”
Slovacek’s is hosting The Texas Bucket List Eclipse Party which will feature food, music, kolaches, BBQ, and an opportunity to meet McAuliffe.
He said he probably will not air the eclipse as a full episode, but people can still watch videos, live updates and social posts of the event.
“We’ll be having live hits on social media during that day, trying to keep people updated as to what things are looking like,” McAuliffe said. “We will definitely get a lot of video to post on our social a little bit later. Probably won’t do an episode on this just because it is a once-in-a-lifetime event, so when the next one is, I believe it’s in the 2040′s, when the next one is in Texas, I’m not even sure. So, it’s a once-in-a-lifetime event that you just get one chance to experience.”
‘The Texas Bucket List’ has been a hit TV show for 11 years, featuring many unique experiences, restaurants and sights in the state.
“The Texas Bucket List is a TV show dedicated to everything you have to see, do an experience in the Lone Star State before you kick the bucket,” he said. “Basically, anything you need to experience in the Lone Star State. We’ve done everything from shooting tanks out at drive tanks in the Ox Ranch. We’ve gone to the Marfa Lights. We’ve been all over this great state, showcasing the incredible things it has to offer, as well as showcasing some of the incredible people of the Lone Star State.”
The event at Slovacek’s kicks off at 10 a.m. Monday.
You can watch ‘The Texas Bucket List’ every Saturday at 6:30 p.m. on KWTX. You can also find previous episodes and a full map of all the places McAuliffe has visited here.
