Waco ISD welcomes new teachers

WACO, Texas (KWTX) - The Waco Independent School District on July 30 hosted a New Teacher Launch at the Extraco Events Center.

During the event, the school district welcomed 145 new teachers, according to the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction, Deena Cornblum.

This event happens every year before the returning teachers come back to campus.

They are beyond excited to have these new teachers join their school district in the fall.

They cover all subjects from math, to English, to special education.

Even though they have hired on 100 plus new teachers, “Waco ISD is still short staffed by 63 positions,” said Deena Cornblum

“If there are any out there who would like to join us we certainly welcome them to apply,” Cornblum expressed.
