Corsicana police chase leads to arrest of three people
CORSICANA, Texas (KWTX) - A police chase in Corsicana Saturday night led to the arrest of three people.
On Feb. 1, at 9:10 p.m., the Corsicana Police Department say officers responded to the 700 block of West 11th Avenue on reports of shots fired.
Police say this is the same area where two people were injured in a drive-by shooting the previous night.
Officers in the area found the suspect vehicle near South 15th Street and West 10th Avenue and a police chase ensued.
The chase, according to police, ended in the 2100 block of West 11th Avenue when three suspects jumped out of the vehicle, leading the vehicle to strike a tree.
Two of the suspects fled the scene on foot but were arrested shortly after by officers, police say.
The third suspect, according to police, did not flee the scene and was arrested.
One of the two suspect who fled the scene was injured during the incident and was taken to a hospital for treatment, police say.
Following their arrest, police say officers found two firearms that were outfitted with devices converting them to fully automatic weapons.
All suspects, according to police, have extensive criminal histories and are expected to face multiple felony charges.
