WACO, Texas (KWTX) - An undocumented immigrant in Waco is accused of forcing a woman into prostitution for nearly two years, an arrest warrant alleges.

Officers with the Waco Police Department Street Crimes Unit and Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents arrested Amado Miguel Baro-Ramirez, 24, on April 21.

Baro-Ramirez, charged with continuous trafficking of a person, is being held on an immigration detainer at the McLennan County Jail.

The arrest warrant states investigators believe Baro-Ramirez trafficked a juvenile over an extended period — from about Feb. 1, 2024, through Jan. 12, 2026 — and did so multiple times as part of a prostitution-related venture.

According to the arrest warrant, an undercover operation was conducted by the Waco Street Crimes Unit after an undercover officer discovered the victim was being “advertised on multiple prostitution websites.”

The affidavit further alleges Baro-Ramirez created the online advertisements, set prices, and verified clients’ identities in an effort to avoid law enforcement detection.

During their investigation, officers located the victim and Baro-Ramirez inside a room at the Studio 6 motel in the 1400 block of South Jack Kultgen Expressway, where investigators determined the man was promoting prostitution, the affidavit states.

Street Crimes officers and ICE agents executed immigration-related warrants and arrested both the suspect and the victim, the affidavit says.

During an interview, the victim told investigators she had been continuously trafficked by Baro-Ramirez from February 2024 through January 2026 and said she was forced to engage in sexual acts with more than 100 clients during that period, according to the affidavit.

The victim also reported that if she refused to comply, the suspect became verbally aggressive and she feared the threats could escalate, leading her to follow his demands, the document states.

Investigators further allege Baro-Ramirez financially benefited from the activity, with the victim reporting she was required to cover most of his personal expenses using money obtained through prostitution.
