GRAPEVINE, Texas (CNN) - Police in Texas say a man is facing charges after he purposely drove his Tesla Cybertruck into a lake to try out its “Wade Mode” feature.

Officers with the Grapevine Police Department responded Monday night to a boat ramp at Grapevine Lake, where they found a Cybertruck in the water.

Police say the driver admitted to purposely driving into the lake in order to try out the “Wade Mode” feature, which lets a Cybertruck drive through shallow rivers or creeks. It didn’t seem to work out well since the vehicle became disabled, and water started coming in.

Everyone inside the Cybertruck made it out safely, and the local fire department got it out of the water.

The unidentified driver was arrested and is facing various charges. He remains behind bars.

Tesla says the maximum wade depth for a Cybertruck is approximately 32 inches, measured from the bottom of the tire.
