Navarro County: $250K of heroin, weapons seized after area traffic stop

NAVARRO COUNTY, Texas (KWTX) Navarro County deputies seized a quarter of a million dollars in China White heroin, which is deadly, and a stockpile of weapons following a traffic stop in Rice Monday.

Sheriff Elmer Tanner said narcotics and weapons, including a loaded pistol, were found inside the vehicle during the traffic stop at mile-marker 243 on I-45 North.

NCSO's Narcotics Unit conducted a follow up investigation at the suspect's home off FM 1126.

Tanner said during the course of the investigation, two kilos - approximately 5.6 pounds - of China White heroin and additional weapons, ammo, body armor, and a fuel tank with a false compartment was discovered and confiscated.

Saul Sanchez-Carrizales, 31, has been charged with manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance over 400 grams, and unlawful carrying of a weapon.

He remains jailed in the Navarro County Detention Center on bonds totaling $151,000.
