Seven local police agencies had 22 reasons to celebrate Wednesday night.

The graduation ceremony for the Class “B-2018” Law Enforcement Academy at McLennan Community College was held at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the MCC Conference Center.

In total, 22 men and women not only graduated from MCC’s 31st academy, they were also the 25th class in a row to have a 100 percent pass rate on the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement exam on the first attempt.

“I don’t think anyone else in the state has done that,” said Dennis Stapleton, Director of the McLennan Community College Law Enforcement Academy.

Hundreds of family members, friends, and active and retired police officers attended the ceremony.

Graduates included: Mayra Almanza, Joel Cardona, Alexander Carlile, Johnathan Crawley, Kenneth Davis II, Bradley DeLange, Scott Dent, Nelson Ehirim, Brianna Garner, Jason Geddis, Kristen Hudson, Stephen Martone, Tyler Miller, Richard Neyens, Jose Manuel Orozco Jr., William Peacock, Andy Petek, Marcos Quintana, Jonathon Smart, Christopher Watson, Salutatorian Gabriele Atripaldi, and Valedictorian Robert Teague.

Of the 22 graduating cadets, 20 were already commissioned with area law enforcement agencies including the Robinson Police Department, the Woodway Public Safety Department, the Bellmead Police Department, the Hewitt Police Department, the Waco Police Department, the Hillsboro Police Department, and the McLennan County Sheriff’s Office.

(It was originally reported the cadets were commissioned to eight local agencies, however, KWTX later discovered two of the cadets were no longer commissioned by their previous agency).
